Report: Global Game Jam 2014 Bandung

Day 1: 24 January 2014

Global Game Jam 2014 Bandung event is held out on Agate Studio center office and followed by 46 participants. This event which starts on 3 pm is opened by MC Aditia Dwiperdana is continued by explanation about artist material by Magato Lead Game Designer who is also a lecturer in Maranatha University, Jammy Lesmana. Afterwards, the event is continued with explanation about programming material by Agate Studio's Head of Programmer, Gregorius Soedharmo. Although the scopes explained by Jammy and Gregorius are different, their purpose is together to give tips and trick creating game in 48 hours.

After various speeches and the explanations, event is continued with team/group forming amounted to 12 groups. After the team/group forming finished, the first day of the event is closed with having dinner together continued with dividing working rooms for each teams.

Day 2: 25 January 2014

On the second day, although obstructed by WiFi problems and overloaded location, those things do not reduce participants' spirit to complete the games created. And even because of the enthusiasm, there are many participants who willingly shower and even sleep (stay overnight) in location.

Day 3: 25 January 2014

After spending time almost 48 hours, finally all 12 teams succeed create the game which has qualty is as good as game from abroad. These are the game names with the gameplay from each group.

Burgular Boom Saga

Burgular Boom Saga is a game where we play a security guard who tries to prevent a thief from stealing goods in a house. In preventing the thief, the security guard has to explode the house.

Candi Crush Naga

In Candi Crush Naga, we play a dragon which has to breakthrough the security guard to reach the available cadi (temple). This game is played with swipe way.

Crush the Candy King

In this Android platformed game, we are assigned to shoot enemies while avoiding launched enemy's weapons. The weapons we use are the candies a la Candy Crush Saga.

Evil Doll

This game is inspired by Ghost Doll story, we will play a character who needs to hide from the ghost doll itself. And after hiding from that doll we need to find where the doll hides. With horror theme and supported by horrifying sound effect and music, this game is suitable for horror lovers.

Game: The Game

This game can be considered very unique. Why? Because in this game we don't play a character which has to achieve determined mission or score the highest point, but in this game we play as the game which have to do manual act to give a command affecting the game. For example the command to reduce the score or vanish the enemy.

Inochi No Kagami

In this story-telling game, we will play a high school student who feels the difference in the daily life.

Car Project

In this game, we play as character which is in a car. The car ridden is actually following a racing car event which suddenly is out of lane and stranded in a middle of forest. That stranded car has to pass the available obstacles which are in the forest inclusing the Monster.

Romance Stalker

In this game we play the character who likes the opponent sex. To get the lover, we have to stealthily stalk him/her in order to know the name, habits and hobbies. But be careful dont get caught!

This game tests our eyes' precision. Our assignment here is to find whats wrong and wahts the same in the picture.

Trash Hunter

This game is inspired by the flood that happens in Capital city, Jakarta, in this game we have to collect trash in river so that the flood won'r happen again.

Vanish

In this game we have to avoid enemy's bullets. And keep paying attention to radar because indeed what's detected in radar we are able to avoid the enemy.

Universo

This puzzle genre game is appointed by the most favorite game in Global Game Jam Bandung event because of the good song arrangement and the deep meaning of this game, that is the reflection of human natures. The purpose of this game is to make the universe balance with various fraction/human nature parts.
