Depok is Ready for Global Game Jam 2014!

Depok officially becomes the sixth city from Indonesia that will hold Global Game Jam (GGJ) 2014 along with Jakarta, Jogjakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and Bali. Global Game Jam Depok 2014 will be held at the same time with other regions, from 24 January 2014 on 14.00 to 26 January 2014. The event itself will be held at @CodeMargonda, Jl. Margonda Raya 349, 2^nd Floor (1^st Floor is Veneta System), Depok.

Other than the standard time schedule from the central organizer, Global Game Jam Depok will also have an additional schedule, a sharing session. “We will have a sharing session for the day, we’re currently looking for the speaker that suit the occasion.” said Oscar Kurniawan, Global Game Jam Depok region organizer.Global Game Jam Depok, initiated by DepokMobi community, also provides several facilities for the participants. “We had prepared the space in CodeMargonda (co working space), also snack and drink plus there are restaurants nearby, internet and table, and we’re working on providing fun area (with xbox!).” he continues.

Anyone is welcomed to join Global Game Jam Depok. However, the participants are expected to excel in game development-related skills such as programming, art development, game design, sound design, game business, etc. Furthermore, Oscar reveals the targeted number of participant from Depok. “We expect 30 participants.” he said.
