Last weekend, one of the top game developer companies in Indonesia, Altermyth, held a unique workshop since it involves kids by introducing them to game developing since early age. The workshop, aptly themed “Creating a Game from Drawing Board to a Game” was held to provide kids aged 8 to 14 with the knowledge on how to make the game of their dream comes true.
The workshop was held at Cikal Setu School on Saturday, 7 December 2013 from 08.00 to 16.00. The workshop – made possible by the partnership of Altermyth and Cikal Setu School – involved 50 students from grade 5 to grade 9. This workshop’s goal is to educate kids and their parents with game-developing knowledge so that parents are aware of game-developing industry growth in Indonesia and in the world and that game developing skill is something useful for the kids’ future.
The subject taught by Altermyth team are Blender to create 3D object and Unit 3D for the engine used in the game. During the workshop, the students show great enthusiasm and interest. They tried to know as much as possible about the subject taught. The students’ high spirit and great enthusiasm made the game developing workshop a thousand times merrier.
This type of workshop will be one of Altermyth’s regular agenda in providing education for kids and their parents about the game industry. Hopefully with more of this early-age educational workshop, we will have much more talented Indonesian game developers in the future!
